The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced its list of stock market holidays for 2026. During the year, the stock markets will remain closed for a total of 15 days, starting with Republic Day on January 26.
Notably, four of these holidays fall on Saturdays or Sundays, when markets are typically closed anyway. March will see the most holidays, with stock markets closed for three days due to Holi (March 3), Shri Ram Navami (March 26), and Shri Mahavir Jayanti (March 31).
On the other hand, February, July, and August will have no extra market holidays, as the national holidays during these months fall on weekends.
The NSE has also announced a special muhurat trading session on Sunday, November 8. The trading session timings will be announced later.
Investors can plan ahead using the NSE's holiday calendar for 2026. This calendar includes all the stock market holidays, helping you stay on top of your investment strategy and make informed decisions in the stock market.
Key market trends to watch in 2026 include the performance of major stock indices, such as the Nifty 50 and the Sensex. Staying informed about market holidays and trading sessions is crucial for investors looking to navigate the stock market effectively.
