Ola Electric is stepping up its scooter deliveries after launching its own 4680 Bharat Cell battery in several southern Indian states.
Delivery Expansion Across Key States
The company says it is now delivering the S1 Pro+ scooter, which uses the 5.2 kWh Bharat Cell, in:
- Tamil Nadu
- Kerala
- Telangana
- Karnataka
- New deliveries started in Coimbatore, Kochi and Hyderabad
- Increased volume in Bengaluru
Why the Bharat Cell Matters
The 4680 Bharat Cell is made entirely in‑house, giving Ola Electric full control over the battery and pack production. This helps the scooter achieve:
- Longer driving range
- Higher performance
- Improved safety
Being the first Indian firm to own the whole battery‑cell process is a big milestone for the country's electric‑vehicle ecosystem.
Government Incentive Boost
Ola Electric also received a ₹366.78 crore incentive under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for the FY 2024‑25. The funding supports the company’s plans to expand domestic manufacturing and deepen localisation of EV components.
What This Means for Retail Investors
Broader delivery coverage and a strong government backing could improve Ola Electric’s sales outlook and strengthen its position in the fast‑growing Indian EV market.
