The Indian stock market is expected to start the day on a weaker note, following negative trends in Asian markets. The Sensex and Nifty 50, India's benchmark indices, may open lower on Monday, December 15, after US equities closed lower on Friday.
Asian markets began the week on a negative note, with the MSCI regional equity index slipping 0.4% and South Korea's market dropping over 2%. US equity-index futures were volatile, while European markets showed a mixed trend.
According to Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Investments Limited, "Global risk appetite improved after the US Fed rate cut, boosting liquidity optimism and lifting domestic equities despite the Rupee hitting record lows and continued FII outflows."
