The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has announced the list of market holidays for 2026. The Indian stock market, including the BSE and NSE, will be closed for a total of 15 days throughout the year.
Some of the notable holidays include Holi, Bakri Id, Republic Day, Diwali, and Christmas. The month of March will have the most holidays, with a total of three days off, followed by April, May, October, and November, each with two holidays.
In addition to the regular holidays, the NSE has also designated four extra dates as holidays that fall on weekends, when trading is typically closed. These dates are:
Muhurat trading is scheduled for Sunday, 8 November, 2026. This special one-hour session marks the beginning of a new Samvat year and is a significant event in the Indian stock market. The timings for Muhurat trading will be announced later.
